Internet-based TV to have 60M users by 2011
- According to a report from Parks Associates, by the
end of 2011 almost 60 million people will be using the
Internet to watch television. Parks says that Tier 1
telephone companies "will reach solid numbers by the end of
the forecast period," but does not provide specifics.
A survey from Accenture
provides some interesting metrics, however: Of 350 telecom
executives, sixty percent said that significant revenues
from IPTV are likely within three years. Fifty-two percent
said they were not confident in IPTV's ability to generate
"significant" revenues within 12 months.

Have
you got your Quik Pod Pro yet?- This seems like an
obvious invention but it is quite brilliant. For under $30! A long telescoping pole
with a camera screw on the end. Dooh. Why didn't I think of that?
It lets you elevate your digital camera or small camcorder high above
the crowd to get shots of the band at a concert. It lets you carry the
camera down low to get dramatic shots from ground or shoe level.

Apple Irked by
Ann Summers iGasm Ad
- A British sex toy shop's ad
campaign for a vibrating iPod
peripheral has drawn the
attention of Apple Inc., and
more importantly, the
disapproval of its lawyers.
Anne
Summers,
an English retailer of lingerie
and sex toys, recently began
marketing the iGasm, an
egg-shaped device which plugs
into the Apple iPod and vibrates
at different speeds depending on
the volume of the music. The $60
device comes with "two silicone
ticklers," as well as a splitter
that allows the user to plug in
earphones and listen to music at
the same time. When are we
going to see this on YouTube?
