- Q4, 2007 is seen by many as a crucial
time in the life of both HD-DVD and Blu-ray
Disc (BD). This may be the point at which
the format battle will potentially be won or
lost – and, more importantly, where the long
term success of high definition discs will
be decided.

Understanding & Solutions
YouTube, now owned by Google, may still be the 800-pound gorilla
of video sharing sites, but an impressive number of rivals--some

YouTube
faces yet another lawsuit over unauthorized content – this
time by rebellious rock star- Prince. The singer said he
would strike out at the video portal and other major sites
to “reclaim hi art on the Internet” and dismissed claims the
Google unit has no control over content uploaded by its
users.
In a statement issued by
representatives, Prince said YouTube is able to “filter porn
and pedophile material but appear[s] not to filter out the
unauthorized music and film content which is core to their
business success.”
YouTube already faces myriad content suits, including a US$1
billion claim by Viacom. It claims to be developing content
filters but nevertheless, says the Digital Millennium
Copyright Act, which merely requires operators to remove
infringing content following formal notification by
copyright holders, protects it from liability.

Video-Enabled Portable Media Players Will Outsell
Audio-Only Models By 2009 -
Driven by increased broadband
penetration, declining price points, and a growing
catalogue of online audio and video content, the
market for MP3 players and portable media players (PMPs)
will remain strong over the next five years, reports
In-Stat (http://www.in-stat.com).
Nevertheless, according to In-Stat's latest primary
research, the main reason consumers are purchasing
portable MP3 players and video-capable PMPs today is
for the devices' audio playback capability, the
high-tech market research firm says.

Here is
a surprising concept - sexy girls in bikinis and Internet

Bikini Masterpiece Theatre
- the hook here is
that there is a section where girls in skimpy bikinis read
Shakespeare. OK, I think that could help promote cultural
awareness and literacy. However, the other theatres on the
site are a bit more salacious and shallow as the women
discuss their breasts, their true confessions and other
topics of interest. Its not culture but it is fun.
