Google Video Upload Program Google recently announced their new Video Upload Program that is designed to connect your work with users who are most likely to want to view them. As of April 15, this program is still in the beta stage - or actually pre-beta, as they are not yet letting anyone access the videos. They are just collecting them. This is going to make a lot of the for pay video hosting services very nervous. They are still in the first phase of the upload program. Once they approve your video submission and enter the next phase, they will send you an email (to the email address you provide) to let you know that they are ready to add your content to Google Video. Users will then be able to search, preview, purchase, and play your video.
At any time after you upload your video to Google, you will then have the opportunity to add more videos, update the information about each video, or remove your video from the program. The content may be reviewed by Google prior to being made available online. Here is what Google is saying about the program - so far... We're accepting digital video files of any length and size. Simply sign up for an account and upload your videos using our Video Uploader (please be sure you own the rights to the works you upload), and, pending our approval process and the launch of this new service, we'll include your video in Google Video, where users will be able to search, preview, purchase and play it. Find out more here. If you're from a TV station or production facility, we have a separate process to help you join the Google Video Upload Program. Find out more here. |
