For many home, event and professional video and movie makers, editing the video together is probably the most difficult part of creating a great and entertaining project

Not only it is complicated, it takes a lot of time and patience and is not always a lot of fun. In my experience, doing a good job of editing a complex video takes at least one hour for every minute of your finished video. If you are working on a commercial project, with sophisticated layering, effects, titles and audio mixing, it can take a LOT longer than that.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a little helper, a genie or an smart angel, who could come in and edit your videos for you? They could review all your raw footage, extract the bad footage from the good, clean it up and then cut it together to the beat of your favorite music and maybe even add a few effects and opening and closing titles and credits.

The good news is that that software exists. The better news is that it works. The bad news is that it is not perfect. The better news is that you can usually take the automatically cut and edited footage and then fine-tune it.

Even though I am a professional editor and have cut and edit numerous projects, I often use automatic editing a solution for my personal projects as well as for quickie projects for my kids and relatives. I know it might sound like heresy, but it works.

However, most professional editors who have not tried one of the better automatic editing products swear that nothing can replace a good editor's eye and brain for creating video. And I must confess that years ago, when I first tried automatic video editing programs, I had the same opinion. No way could something like this replace ME!

muvee autoProducer is the fastest, easiest and most fun way to transform raw videos and photos into professional-looking productions.

Let me introduce you to muvee.

According to Pete Kellock, founder/strategist/inventor/muveeographer of muvee, one of the leading creators of automatic video editing solutions,  “Automatic video editing puts many of the techniques and tricks of pro video editor into software.  By doing so we can allow the average non-pro to make much better productions than they can with a traditional linear editor (and thousands of times faster).  But we would never claim that we can do as good a job as an experienced pro editor who spends hours or days editing.  The main times we're used by pros is when they need quick results - for example to create rough cuts to suss out what a client wants, to experiment with the material, or to create something more-or-less immediate, such as shooting guests arriving at an event and showing them a completed video half an hour later.”

So how does it work? It’s not magic or voodoo - it’s just a matter of great algorithms and sophisticated programming.
