Here is an interesting site. FamilyVideos.  Based in the UK, it provides a lot of good information on how to create video and family movies. According to the site, "FamilyVideos contains over 60 articles all written by our team of experts and we add around 10 new articles each month."www.familyvideos.co.uk/home.htm

You are going to love this site - especially if you thrive on the crass, disgusting and the revolting. Its basically an online ad for Agion, a company that makes antimicrobial products. But it is great - for kids, for budding scientists, for those who want to know how to make their home just a bit more sanitary. Of course, if you just want to laugh, you'll love it as well. It is the “That’s Revolting!” site (www.ThatsRevolting.com, Press Release) starring Florence Henderson, America’s favorite TV mom.

Shot on the original (but reconfigured) set of the classic ‘70’s TV sitcom that made Henderson an American icon, “That’s Revolting!” features Henderson as the mom in a whacked family that’s inadvertently passing microbes to each other in a series of over-the-top comedic videos. Florence also plays the perennially cheerful host, who urges web viewers to ‘Spot the Germs’ before family members get ill with everything from Flesh Eating Bacteria to Salmonella. It’s fun for the whole family!  Tune in to www.ThatsRevolting.com for hilarious videos, fun games and to enter to win cool prizes!

You know the old joke, how do you get to Carnegie Hall? "Practice, practice, practice."  Well the same recommendation goes for how to make it as an Internet video star or producer. Just make net videos. Check out TheIndianmaiden.com, a site where they take that message to heart. Rachel Tucker and her friends create and post a new short movie every week. Every week! That's a lot of work and very ambitious. Yes the quality ranges a bit but the films are always interesting. Check them out and use their dedication as a way to motivate yourself. At youtube, they have a whole section dedicated to their films.

mediocre films - they're better than they sound. This is a great little site that features short and funny original videos. You got to check this out.  Some of our favorites are Sexy Panda, Swapping Heads and The Date.

Mediocre Films was formed by
Greg Benson to create a sketch comedy TV series called "Skip TV," which he wrote, produced, directed and starred in as "Skip." One 12 episode season aired in Los Angeles, and it quickly gained a strong following of fans with questionable taste. It also spawned a spin-off series for one of Greg's most politically incorrect characters, Juan Ortega (the world's worst comedian), in six episodes of "The Juan Ortega Show," featuring David Hussey as Juan's useless mute sidekick, The Prince.

This new site is interesting especially for young women looking to explore their own sexuality. Amber Madison, a recent graduate of Tufts University, recently published a book for girls about safer sex, sexuality, and relationships, (Hooking Up: A Girl's All-Out Guide to Sex and Sexuality). She has just launched a web tv channel, with all sorts of two minute video clips about things like condom use, relationships, basically anything sexual. Amber says, "I think that this is a great way to reach people with information about sexual health and healthy relationships." www.ambermadison.tv

Here is a surprising concept - sexy girls in bikinis and Internet video... Check out Bikini Masterpiece Theatre - the hook here is that there is a section where girls in skimpy bikinis read Shakespeare. OK, I think that could help promote cultural awareness and literacy. However, the other theatres on the site are a bit more salacious and shallow as the women discuss their breasts, their true confessions and other topics of interest. Its not culture but it is fun.

Do you like to read? Do you like to watch videos and read blogs about reading? Get up to speed on the latest news and dirt about your favorite authors and their newest books?  Check out this new site - Readers Entertainment TV. It has just launched so there is not a lot of content yet but the concept is great.

The small, tight-knit Tule Fog crew has worked closely with Chief Joanne Hayes-White and her crews of the San Francisco Fire Department and Fire Department officials nationwide to create a series that accurately depicts the professional lives of the men and women who risk their lives every day.

“Some of these stories will break your heart,” says executive producer David Furtado. “Others will make you laugh out loud. That’s the thing about their jobs: Firefighters have to turn that emotional corner without losing control.”

Good online video does not require a flashy and expensive web site with sophisticated design elements and mind-boggling flash intros. Check out this simple, effective and very informative site - gardenfork.tv is an online video show that spotlights tips and tricks for gardening and cooking. Makes sense - first you grow it, then you cook it and eat it.  According to Eric Gunnar Rochow , its my version of a Do It Yourself (DIY)television show, except it plays on your laptop or your iPod. gardenfork.tv is available as a Flash movie (the player on the home page), an iTunes podcast, or as a WordPress blog.

Whether you are doing research for your next trip or vacation or you prefer to travel vicariously over the Internet, you have to check out this new site - Travercial.com. They have collected over 1,000 quality travel videos selected by their editors from all over the Internet and brought together in one site. We really like the selection bar that allows you to easily scroll from one video to another in order to quickly and easily select which video you want to watch. Go ahead and take a trip - there is no line and you don't have to deal with missed connections...

StableRoad.com is devoted to showcasing sports and filmmakers of today and from the past.  Heavy emphasis is being placed on production quality, with all clips and movies being "juried" before uploading onto the site. All of the media is being presented at a 30 frames per second (fps) rate, rather than the (often used) lower bandwidth 15fps, in order to ensure smooth playback.

Currently, they have lots of classic windsurfing short films and vignettes from the late 80s and early 90s from Robert Masters' own Sports Stock Footage Library and a series of short films shot in 16mm film from producer/director Greg Stump.  Also on-line are segments from O'Neill's recent surfing release "Smash It Up" featuring surfing antics from The Pipeline to Indonesia, a series of shorts from Volcom Stone, "Kids Who Rip" by Rob Parmenter - and a showcase of exotic concept sports cars from DaimlerChrysler.

This is a very cool, well produced site. They promise that they will be adding new sports, new filmmakers, new features, new products, and new looks on an ongoing basis.

Check out Slate V's series on the worst cinematic crap that's ever been made. In this episode, Mark Jordan Legan presents Little Red Riding Hood and the Monsters, a scary kiddie flick from 1965. This is so bad, its good....
