Check out this well made Italian fan film - Spiderman Asylum - Not a "backyard movie", it's a Spider-Man roto-tooned fanfilm that kinda looks like "A Scanner Darkly", like an animated graphic novel. It took a while to be made and it also won a couple prizes at the competition held at the biggest comic-con in Italy (Lucca Comics&Games). Give it a look.
