Instant Films #17 - FEBRUARY 20th, 2005

A Swinging Instant Film Festival for Singles!

Its been a long cold winter since the last creative blast from Instant Films so we thought we'd warm things up around here. The 17th Instant Film Festival is coming soon and this time our theme is Singles and Dating. You don't have to be single to attend but if you ever have been you'll have a great time as usual. If you are single or have single friends who are looking to meet people we will have fun singles activities in conjunction with the festival this time. Writers, directors and actors will be making short films in 48 hours on the theme of singles and dating. As usual we have no idea what we'll be seeing but if past Instant Film Festivals are any guide the results will be provocative, exciting and brilliant!

The screening will be held at the Los Angeles Center Studio, Hollywood's newest filmmaking campus, located at 450 S. Bixel. Doors will open to the public at 7 p.m. with food and drink at the Flix Café. The screening begins at 8 p.m., and an awards ceremony and party follow. Ticket prices for the Instant Film Festival are $10.00 each when ordered online, and $15.00 at the door. The price includes the post-screening reception. For general information and to experience the astonishing quality of past films go to www.instantfilms.tv.

HATE OR DATE IS A BLOCKBUSTER
"Hate or Date," was in heavy rotation on IFILM for a few weeks and racked up hundreds of thousands of views in an amazingly short time. In one 4 day period it was seen by nearly a quarter of a million people and now it is in the top ten most popular comedies ever on IFilm! An audience favorite from the Halloween festival, "Hate or Date" was written by first time Instant Film writer (but long time director) Adam Stein and directed by wunderkind Ben Rock. The film featured Instant Film virgins P.J. Ochlan and Nicolette Dimaggio along with veterans Michael Cotter and Bruno Oliver (playing Satan!). If you want to watch the film (which is hilarious!) you can find it at http://www.instantfilms.com/films.html or if you want to add to the number of views at IFilm you can find it here: http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2654462
