B&H is pleased to announce that we will again be partnering with National Geographic Traveler magazine to offer three seminar series this fall and next spring.
The three seminars are:
INSIDE SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY Join National Geographic Traveler photographer Jim Richardson and one of the magazine's editorial staff; senior photo editor Dan Westergren, art director Jerry Sealy, or editor-in-chief Keith Bellows for a one day seminar on how to make successful travel photos. Instead of simply producing pretty pictures, discover how to capture the spirit of a place by using a cultural documentary approach to your travel photography. Also, learn how excellence in travel photography furthers Traveler’s commitment to take readers on a journey of exploration, discovery, and enrichment, according to Keith Bellows. We’ll help you turn your pictures into stories which will make your pictures more meaningful.
TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPY IN THE DIGITAL WORLD Join National Geographic Traveler magazine photo editor Dan Westergren and contributing photographer Ralph Lee Hopkins for a one day seminar discussing Travel Photography in the Digital World. Travel and photography go together. And digital photography provides photographers of all skill levels more control and creative possibilities than ever before. This seminar is intended for amateur photographers new to digital or considering switching from film to digital capture. Using a slide show/lecture format, Westergren and Hopkins will help ease your transition into the digital world.
INSIDE SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL TRAVEL WRITING Join top National Geographic Traveler writer Andrew Nelson and one of the Traveler editorial staff; editor-in-chief Keith Bellows, executive editor Paul Martin, or senior editors Sheila Buckmaster, Scott Stuckey, or Jayne Wise for a one day seminar on how to write the kinds of stories that have earned Traveler the World’s Most Widely Read Travel Magazine distinction. Come to understand the mindset and strategies behind stories that get inside and communicate the heart of a place. Learn how story telling and not guidebook journalism captures the attention of readers. Find out what it takes to make good on Traveler's commitment to tell the stories of destinations of distinction and character and the belief that to enhance an authentic ‘sense of place’ will benefit both travelers and the locations they visit.
