New Proprietary Online System Delivers a Commercial Retail Quality DVD

DVD Plays in Standard Players, Home Theatre Systems -

Viewing on Small Computer Screens Now A Thing of the Past

NEW YORK, March 8, 2006-Indiepix.net today announced the launch of the company's Download-To-Own(tm) system, with the potential to
revolutionize the distribution of filmed entertainment for use in the
home.  The software required for Download-To-Own(tm) is available at
www.indiepix.net <http://www.indiepix.net/> , free of charge.

Indiepix.net is an online retailer of independent films, founded in
2004.  With almost 2,000 curated, annotated and indexed films in its
catalog, Indiepix.net offers consumers a broad array of independent film
offerings, from Oscar(r)-winning features and documentaries to
collections of festival winners and student films.  The company's is the
largest managed collection of independent films available on the
internet.

Via its Disc Factory software, Download-To-Own(tm) retrieves an encoded and scrambled file and brings it to the user's computer.  The downloaded file, which cannot be played on the user's computer, is then reassembled as a DVD file and written to a disc in the consumer's DVD-writer.  This method produces a commercial quality DVD that can be played on a standard DVD player for home theatre systems ranging in caliber from basic to high-end.  Unlike previously available film downloading options, Download-To-Own(tm) frees the consumer from being forced to watch a feature film on only a small computer screen.

Pricing will vary according to title, with standard feature-length films selling for about $15 and short films selling for between $2 and $5.  There is no charge for the download of Indiepix.net Disc Factory software.

In making the announcement, Bob Alexander, president of Indiepix.net
said, "We believe this is how independent filmmakers want their work to
be seen, on screens far larger and delivering greater clarity than even
the best computer display screens can provide.  Additionally, for indie
filmmakers who have been unable to secure theatrical distribution for
their work, Download-To-Own(tm) provides them a direct-to-audience
distribution system heretofore unavailable."

The Download-To-Own(tm) software is now available for use with PCs.  The company expects to have a Mac-compatible release by the beginning of April.  A DVD-burner (either +R or -R is acceptable) is required to complete the Download-to-Own(tm) process.

System Requirements:  Windows XP, 256 megabytes of memory, between 1 and 4 gigabytes of free disk space (depending on the size of the film), and a broadband internet connection.

"Download-To-Own(tm) is a comprehensive systems approach to electronic film distribution for in-home viewing," said Scott Abramowitz, chief technology officer for Indiepix.net.  "This is not about narrow Digital Rights Management issues.  We have built a commercial system to distribute filmed entertainment programming, a system that leverages the equipment that consumers already own and enjoy, and with which they are comfortable."

DVDs produced by the Download-To-Own (tm) system are delivered using proprietary transmission technology.  The discs that are written at the consumer's computer implement a "fair use" standard of content
protection.  The company believes that the discs delivered with this
system are completely comparable in quality to those purchased at
standard retail outlets.
