Grouper Simplifies Video Sharing
SAUSALITO, Calif. - March 14, 2006 - Grouper
Networks Inc., developers of the first complete user-created video
sharing service, announced today Web uploading capabilities for its
device-to-device video sharing service, making it easier than ever
before to share video clips with any audience. Grouper also
announced an affiliate program enabling third party Web sites to add
video directly to their sites using embedded Grouper functionality.
And, on the Grouper.com site, users are now able to publish their
own media content to their profiles on MySpace and Friendster with
one click. Grouper is the only free service that gives users the
platform and the tools to easily import, edit, share and watch
user-created videos.
"The launch of Web uploads makes Grouper's product the most
complete, robust, and user-friendly video sharing service available
on the Web today," said Josh Felser, CEO Grouper Networks. "Users
can easily upload their content directly to the Web for public or
private sharing. For our more active users, the Grouper client
continues to offer faster, easier uploads of multiple videos at a
time, unlimited downloads and editing capabilities. Now, Grouper
give users the most options for customizing and sharing their
videos."
How it works
The new Web upload feature at Grouper is as easy as attaching a
document to an email. Once a video has been saved onto the user's
computer, go to www.grouper.com and click on the "Upload" tab.
Grouper will then ask the user to browse his or her computer to
locate the video. Once found, the user selects the desired video and
chooses whether to share the video publicly with anyone who visits
Grouper.com or privately, by entering recipients' email addresses.
From here, the user simply clicks on the "Upload Now" button. Within
minutes, the video will be uploaded and ready to share. Users can
also add any video shared on Grouper.com to their MySpace or
Friendster profiles with just one click.
