National Short Film contest for University and College students.

The contest is being hosted by www.theproject.tv and is structured as a 3-episode short film miniseries in which the student will have to structure, write, shoot, and edit a sequence of three, 3 minute short films which carry a common theme or topic throughout.  The episodes may be traditional or animations.

The Voting structure of the contest is based on popular voting similar to American Idol.  Once an episode is submitted, the viewers will vote for the Director whose series they would like to see continue.  Those Directors with the most votes will then move on to the next round while those with the least votes will be eliminated.  There are a total of 3 rounds.  In the final round, the 3 directors with the most votes will win $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000 respectively.

We hope you see the value in creating a contest that requires a little more thought, structure, and discipline than the usual short film festival.  Also, because every episode will be viewable online, students will have the opportunity to interact and get valuable feedback from their peers.
