StupidVideos.com Launches Cash Rewards
Program for Submissions
Content creators offered daily, weekly,
monthly and annual cash prizes up to $25,000
El Segundo,
CA, March 26, 2007 – StupidVideos.com (www.stupidvideos.com),
the premiere online destination for
family-friendly comedy, today announces the
launch of a new promotional program that
rewards content creators up to $25,000 for
their video clips.
The new StupidVideos rewards program
involves daily, weekly, monthly and annual
cash prizes with winners selected by the
StupidVideos editorial staff.
User-submitted clips that are featured on
the StupidVideos.com homepage automatically
earn $5.00 a piece. An additional $100.00
prize is given away for the funniest video
clip of the week and a $1,000.00 prize to
the funniest and most emailed clip of the
month.
As in years past, StupidVideos.com will also
give away a grand prize for the funniest
original video of the year. Past grand
prize winners have received $10,000 and
$15,000 awards however the prize for 2007
has increased to $25,000 for the best
original clip as judged by the StupidVideos
editors, and $5,000 to the best video as
judged by other StupidVideos users. In
addition to these cash prizes, StupidVideos
is giving away $2,500 to the two members who
represent the most active users in the
StupidVideos community, through blogging,
commenting, sharing and other activities.
Information on the rewards program can be
found under the 'Win Stuff' tab on the
StupidVideos.com website (http://www.stupidvideos.com/win/).
"This is a very straight-forward approach to
rewarding users who create funny viral
videos,” said, Karina Kogan, General Manager
of StupidVideos.com. "Our users don't have
to calculate how much they can earn based on
the number of views their clip receives or
how much advertising revenue the company
brings in. Basically, if our editors like
it and feature it, our users make money.”
Throughout the year, StupidVideos will
continue to run other offerings and
contests, in addition to this new rewards
program. For example, users can stay tuned
for promotions around non-video content
housed in the newly launched Stupid Stuff
section. Stupid Stuff, which includes flash
games, pictures, animations, magic and
illusions, jokes, crazy news, prank calls
and other media aligned with StupidVideos'
wacky sense of humor, launched quietly last
month and has proven remarkably popular,
attracting over 900,000 visitors consuming
an average of ten pieces of media per visit.
StupidVideos.com was recently declared the
'stickiest' or most engaging US video site
by Compete.com (February, 2007), the US
online traffic analysis firm, and PureVideo
Networks, StupidVideos' parent company, was
named one of comScore's top ten gaining
properties for the same month.
