New Pinnacle Studio 11
software streamlines online video
publishing; offers users greater choice for
sharing content in public and private
environments
Avid
Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVID), today
announced that its Consumer division,
Pinnacle Systems, Inc., is empowering
consumers who are interested in sharing home
videos on the Web with new, easy-to-use
publishing tools. Using the "one-click
publish" feature within the Pinnacle Studio
11 software family, consumers can now upload
their video content to the Yahoo! Video
website for public sharing - or to the
recently launched StudioOnLine.com service
for private sharing.
Sharing
videos on Yahoo! Video directly from
Pinnacle Studio 11
Since its introduction, Yahoo! Video has
become an online destination for people who
are interested in sharing user-generated
videos with the world. Pinnacle Studio 11
software makes it easy for anyone to publish
content directly to Yahoo! Video. With just
one-click, consumers can access all the
Yahoo! Video settings and upload their
videos to the site. As a result, users can
get their content online quickly without the
hassle of having to understand complex video
settings and format requirements.
"We are
extremely pleased with the simplicity of the
user experience that Pinnacle has achieved
by linking its video editing software to the
Yahoo! Video site," said Mike Folgner,
general manager, video at Yahoo!. "This
powerful integration opens the doors of web
sharing to millions of Pinnacle Studio
users."
Sharing
videos privately and in high quality over
the web on the new StudioOnLine.com website
Pinnacle is also introducing a new service -
StudioOnLine.com - for consumers who want to
share their videos on the web in a secure
environment at the highest possible level of
quality and limit viewing to select friends
or relatives. The new service, which is
accessible from within Pinnacle Studio 11
software and through the site's URL at
www.studioonline.com, offers consumers
the ability to upload videos at HD,
wide-screen resolutions - with virtually no
limitations to the file length or size - a
feature that is not available on popular
public video-sharing websites. Using
Pinnacle Studio software, consumers can
easily upload their videos, and then
generate viewing invitations for the select
individuals with whom they would like to
share the content. Anyone can try
StudioOnLine.com for free for a period of
two weeks before receiving low monthly
storage charges that start at $2.99 for up
to 110 minutes of video at 300kb/s. Premium
storage expansion is available on demand.
Availability
The Yahoo! Video one-click access is
available immediately for anyone using
Pinnacle Studio 11 software products, which
began shipping in April 2007. The Pinnacle
StudioOnLine.com is now available in the US
and Pinnacle is planning to expand it
internationally.
