ANNOUNCE ‘DO IT YOURSELF’ DOCUMENTARY CONTEST WINNERS
Top Three Documentaries to Air on Primetime on the Documentary Channel
NASHVILLE, Tenn. & San Diego, Calif. The DIY Doc Contest, first announced on March 1, 2007, called for documentary film submissions of one to ten minutes in length about any subject that evoked passion from the nominees. The nominees were evaluated by a panel of judges who selected three winning documentaries that will air on The Documentary Channel on June 23rd.

Contest entries were judged on the basis of creativity and originality, adherence to guidelines topic and popularity based on the rating of VMIX viewers. In addition to airing all three of the top-selected documentaries on broadcast television, VMIX and The Documentary Channel will award the Grand Prize Winner with an 80 GB video iPod. The Second Prize Winner will also receive a six-month subscription to www.greencine.com <http://www.greencine.com/> , and the Third Prize Winner will receive an exclusive set of autographed DVDs from award-winning documentary filmmakers.
