IMTF's 2011 Festival & Competition
Our second annual Festival is underway. This year, we're accepting trailers in four categories: fiction movies, documentaries, web series, and books. The winner in each category receives $250. The Grand Prize winner earns $5,000 and a meeting with a Hollywood producer.
In addition to the jury prizes, there's a $1,000 People's Choice Award. Last year it went to Beautiful Girl directed by first-time director Max Speed, shown here on location.
Entering the competition is easy using our online entry form. The site last year's entries including the 2010 winners, and of course this year's entries. There's also a tips section for how to make a memorable trailer.
The deadline is May 31, 2011. Entering early gives you a better chance of winning the People's Choice Award.
Don't Have a Movie? No problem! We also have a $500 prize for the best "faux trailer," that is, a trailer for a movie, documentary, web series, or book that's still in the dream stage. The Coen Brothers broke into the business by making such a preproduction trailer that led to the funding of their first movie Blood Simple.
Whether or not you wish to enter a trailer, we hope you'll visit IMTF to vote for your favorites. And please pass the word on to your moviemaking friends.
