"Lloyd's body of work has now proven to be a seminal influence on worldwide film today. Just look at any film created by the likes of Quentin Tarantino, Takashi Miike, Peter Jackson, Eli Roth, Gaspar Noe, and James Gunn, to name a few, and you are likely watching a film influenced by Class Of Nuke'Em High, Tromeo & Juliet, or Citizen Toxie." -Stan Lee

Waltham, MA - May 25, 2011 - Elsevier/Focal Press is proud to announce that they will be releasing filmmaking icon Lloyd Kaufman's sixth book "Sell Your Own Damn Movie!" on June 16th. This is Mr. Kaufman's fourth book in the "Your Own Damn Film School" series following "Make Your Own Damn Movie", "Direct Your Own Damn Movie!" and "Produce Your Own Damn Movie!" The book will include a foreword by Stan Lee, the legendary co-creator of Spider-Man and Iron Man.

"Sell Your Own Damn Movie!" covers everything you need to do to get your finished film seen by ticket-buying movie-goers, festival-goers, web-viewers, DVD-buyers, spinoff merchandise-buyers, etc. around the world. Mr. Kaufman recounts his own front-line stories of how Troma Entertainment has successfully distributed movies for over 35 years. He devotes equal time in his book to insightful interviews with distribution pros. You will learn formulas for success from the distributors of mainstream blockbuster releases like "Twilight" and "Paranormal Activity", as well as from the distributors of revolutionary "no-distribution budget" movies such as "Sita Sings The Blues" and "Bomb It". Filled with anecdotes both entertaining and informative, "Sell Your Own Damn Movie" is an engaging and educational guide to the many ways you can get your film out there, either through a distributor or all on your own.

Lloyd Kaufman is one of the very few genuine auteur filmmakers. He has written, produced, and directed more than 25 films, including "The Toxic Avenger", "Terror Firmer", "Tromeo and Juliet", and "Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead". Kaufman is president of the world-famous Troma Entertainment, the oldest and, arguably, the longest-running truly independent film studio in history. He is also the elected Chairman of the Independent Film & Television AllianceŽ (IFTAŽ), whose 150 Member Companies produce more than 400 independent films and countless hours of television programming each year and generate more than $4 billion in distribution revenues annually.
