Have you ever wanted to add a sound track to your video production? It can be tricky.  Most video editing programs allow you to add additional sound layers but it is not always easy. It is can be very complicated and frustrating to edit a soundtrack to fit your entire video or particular scenes.

Check out SmartSound Movie Maestro. This is pretty cool. SmartSound is an inexpensive ($49) all in one package that makes it amazingly easy to create music sound tracks for your home and special event videos and movies. You can easily create alternate versions of soundtracks - you can easily trim or stretch a soundtrack to fit the exact length of your show.

It is an easy three step process. First, input a video clip or completed movie. Then pick out which music soundtrack you want, You have a lot of choices regarding song types, styles, tempo, etc. Once you have the right track, you can then adjust it using different arrangements. These are different versions of the same song. complete with beginning, middle and end.. To help you pick out just the right audio selection,, you can preview it before you insert it into your movie.

Once you have selected the soundtrack clip, Movie Maestro automatically lays in the music to the correct length of your scene.  You can easily change the length of your selected soundtrack to fit the clip.  Movie Maestro will automatically lengthen or shorten the music to fit the length you have picked.  Instead of just chopping the audio off, Movie Maestro actually re-creates the music track to fit the length you have selected, complete with beginning, middle and end.

You can also set up the clip to fade in and out at the beginning and end. If your existing movie scene already has sound, you can mix the audio levels of the existing audio with the new Movie Maestro by controlling the relative volume of each. You can add in additional music clips as needed until the entire movie has the right sound tracks. Pretty easy, You can then save the soundtrack as a separate standalone sound track, or as an unified production, with both video and audio.

Movie Maestro is compatible with video editing programs like Microsoft MovieMaker, ULead VideoStudio, MGI VideoWave, etc., or even Microsoft PowerPoint.  The recommended process is to use your video or multimedia editing program to create your program. When you are done, then import it to Movie Maestro to add the soundtrack.

Smart Sound recommends creating and exporting a low-quality reference movie from your video editing program, then open it in Movie Maestro. When you have completed the music for the movie, save your soundtrack using either the "Complete Soundtrack" or "Each Smart Block in a separate file" options. You'll then have sound files that can be imported into your video editing system for use with your movie.

You can import any movie file that is compatible with Apple's QuickTime or Windows Media Player (for Windows users) into Movie Maestro

By the way, Movie Maestro is designed to work with SmartSound music only. They offer a variety of music  libraries which are specially encoded to work with the  software, so the music can be edited to any time length you need it to be to fit your movie. The consumer version includes CD soundtracks recorded at 22 MHZ, good for multimedia work and most home uses. However, if you are a pro and need higher quality audio, or the ability to import audio from other sources, consider the more expensive SonicFire Pro ($349). For the additional cost, you also get improved audio editing control and features.

However, if you are a home video enthusiast or event videographer, using Movie Maestro indeed make it easy to add professional sounding sound tracks to your existing movies and video clips.  It is a very cool program that is extremely easy to use. The $49.95 package includes the program and three music CDS - Cutting Edge, Family and Sports themes. Of course, more music theme CDs are available. This works with both Mac and Windows computers.
