TriggerStreetTV - "Displacement" - A Short Film Spotlight:  In this  podcast, TriggerStreet TV  looks at the short film "Displacement" with a brief introduction from the filmmaker, Chris Perry.  It is a short computer-animated film about an individual tempted by change.  The film was one of twelve overall Nominees that went to the end of season judging phase of the TriggerStreet 2nd Film Festival Season.

This is one the Top listed, most recommended films at AtomFilms - it has to be good. The Act is is the story of a stand-up comedian who uses her comedy to exact revenge on her ex-husband — and hide a dark secret. Starring Debra Jo Rupp from That 70s Show, it's a heartfelt story with a powerful ending.

This is amazingly strange and weird but very, very good

This is a very interesting 11 minute drama - The Roman - this is very good, moody and well shot.

Roman Mackey is a contract hitman who has been trying to get out of the business. Begrudgingly, he accepts a job that sends him into suburbia to kill Dave; someone allegedly stealing money from Roman’s boss.


 

Last Train Ride - Though it clocks in at less than four minutes, this musical cartoon feels like an entire lifetime flashing before your eyes. Director: Gokhan Okur

 

 


 

This is really interesting - a mash up of creativity, animation and game playing. It is sort of cool - a very different look on making animated movies. Check it out. Final Fantasy A+ - this is a top vote getter at Newgrounds

 


This is a brilliant commercial  - The long awaited 2006 commercial for Sony BRAVIA is now live on www.bravia-advert.com. Accompanying the launch  is a 5 minute behind the scenes documentary, a host of  gallery images, and a range of downloads including a color game and a High Definition version of the full length ad.


 

Love is a curious thing. Sometimes it is right in front of you and you just never see it. Check out this short flick - Unnoticed - one of the top vote getters from the Tahiti Online Film Festival. This film is short, sweet and quite poignant.


 

Still Life - this sci-fi horror film made it to the top of AtomFilm's top 26 online videos for 2006. Directed by Jon Knautz, it tells the story of Nathan, who while taking a detour during a road trip,  finds himself in a winter bound small town whose residents seem positively frozen.

Black Button - this is a great little student film - check it out - Mr Roberts finds himself awoken inexplicably in a white room. A man sits before him at a desk and in between them stands a black button. If Mr Roberts pushes it, he will receive a briefcase filled with millions of dollars. Or he can take the key to the door and leave penniless. The catch? Pushing the button will result in the death of a human being. What would you do?

 


  

 

Kitty Loves a Rug Sucker was written, produced and directed by Erik Bosse. According to to Erik, "This short was produced for the San Antonio film group, Short Ends Project. It was a last minute decision on my part. I knew my three actors could give me some interesting improvisational performances. I gave them the basic story structure, and shot at all in about five hours. Camera and music by Russ Ansley."


 

One of the top submissions for this years StudentFilmaker.com's SummerShort's contest, SORRY by Hodges Usry is a great little film that tells the tragic story of a abused kid and the actions that result.

Check out this wonderful flick from iKlipz. El Mago - the Magician. Is he a wizard or ain't he?  Professionally produced with slick editing, cinematography and acting. This is great and will make you want to watch it again.

 


"The Losers Have a Junkyard" is a wonderful little horror flick with a very interesting political twist. Watch it at your own risk. Especially if you are a Republican.... Make sure you watch the credits.

Sometimes all you need is one good idea - one clear concept - to create short film that can stand out from all the rest. Check out "email to mama" - written, produced and directed by Gerardo Ruiz Minan. Another interesting site and video is found at Aaron's Truck Driver Blog. Check out the July 4 blog and flash - WMV video that he shot and posted. Simple but very cool.



 

Written and directed by Luis Camara Silva, "Endgame" is a wonderful little 8 minute flick that uses chess as a metaphor for life, for dating, for the battle of the sexes. Great direction, writing, acting and imagery. You got to check it out.
