Fox Searchlight Pictures has created a
new program for aspiring filmmakers. Fox
SearchLight Lab is about connection,
development and creating an environment that
allows for diversity while encouraging new
voices and ideas. The Lab works with
selected filmmakers each year to create
digital shorts. The goal is to help them
become the next generation of theatrical
filmmaking talent. Each Lab Filmmaker
receives a first look deal with Fox
Searchlight Pictures. In addition, the Shorts
Series site spotlights different short
films.
Looking for great short videos that are

Then check out All
Day Breakfast. They have a wonderful
collection of short one to two minute films
that amazingly well produced, acted, and
directed - and of course - funny. As this is
a breakfast themed site, some of my favorite

A truly wonderful collection of short
videos and films can be found on the Pirate
Videos web site. The clips range from
simple goofy animations to amazingly well
produced videos with sophisticated special
effects. This site is a true gem to be
shared among those you love. Some of our
favorites include High

AtomFilms is really two sites -
AtomFilms
for videos and animations and ShockWave
for
games. The AtomFilm's site features a wide assortment of wonderful shorts
in the areas of animations, comedy, drama, extreme, thrillers, etc. You can watch them
online or you can go to the download section and save them to your hard drive
for later viewing. Atom Films also includes special Showcase sections. This is a
good place to submit your video as well. The Shockwave.com site also provides a
variety of animation tools and downloadable GAMES and puzzles.
iFilm - The Internet Movie Guide - IFILM
(www.IFILM.com)
is one of the most comprehensive online sites to find and watch feature
and short films. The IFILM network claims to have over 80,000 films and also
offers access to movie-related news, reviews, trailers and movie showcases, as
well as robust user communities and a comparison DVD and video shopping guide.
iFilm channels include comedy, animation, action, drama, erotica, gay &

This includes original short films by notable film makers such as David Veloz ("Permanent Midnight"), Luis Mandoki ("Angel Eyes," "Message in a Bottle") and Agnieszka Holland
("Europa Europa"). In addition, the site also features tips on do-it-yourself film making, director biographies and interviews, and electronic versions of the cinematic SKYY print images.

This site is
awesome! You have to visit the Guerilla
Filmmakers site. It is not about apes or guerilla warfare but
provides great sources of information about how to make and
distribute independent films. Their goal is to promote creative
digital video, independent films, shorts, amateur documentary, wild
and crazy videos of parties and student films with attitude.
Check out the "Now Showing" page to get access to a large bunch of very
cool and very entertaining Internet movies and videos covering a wide
range of styles, subjects and points of view. Some are
great, some not - but they all illustrate the cutting
edge of independent filmmaking on the web. They are eagerly looking
for new films to promote.
Are you a
collector? Do like collecting funny little
video clips and emailing them to your
fiends, relatives and enemies? Check out PureMPEGS,
a great collection of funny and weird MPEG
files. Most are about 1 to 2 MBs in size,

beautiful and awe-inspiring. You don't

to see some wonderful videos of the
shimmering lights in action. If the time and

specializes in very short Internet videos (1.44 MB in length) perfect
for downloading or streaming over a narrow pipe. According to the site
manager, "Well, anyone can make a 10Mb video clip, lots of this,
lots of that and no regards to compression...but it takes skill to
squeeze something meaningful (or funny) into a 1.44Mb file. At 60
kbps that 24 seconds...at 30 kbps that is 48 seconds! Think
of the possibilities!"

Fiore's web site. Mark Fiore is a
political cartoonist and lives in San
Francisco, the Promised Land of satirists.
His work appears in print and on the web and
is seen by millions, possibly even
scrillions. Formerly the staff political
cartoonist for the San Jose Mercury News,
Fiore has now branched out into animated
political cartoons. The featured animation,
Catch'em,
is Mark's take on the recent remote
annihilation of Al Queda
"terrorists" by a missile launched
by a Predator drone.

post cool and funny videos. Check out the
site for radio
station WTIV i96 in Grand Rapids,
Michigan. Some of the classic clips there
include "Woman's Health-Wrong
Phone", "Bear Fights For
Fish", "Southwestern Bell Cable
Modem Bandwidth Hog" and "Japanese
Ad Copy Machine."
Looking for a cool new music video site?
Check out BlankTV:
- they call themselves "...the Net's
largest and fastest growing punk and indie
music video site with over 400 music videos
and live clips from all over. We have some
especially scandalous videos featuring sex,
nudity, violence, drugs, alcohol, gambling
and a host of other fun things."
This site is pretty cool. However, it is pay
for play (25 cents per music video) and you
need to download and install their
proprietary video player/media manager.
However, once the video has been downloaded
you can watch it over and over again. Their
range of unique music videos is impressive.
If you
are looking for something a bit
different, a bit more political and more
socially/politically involving, check
out BEyONdTV.
BEyONdTV TV rips down the barriers
