Cool Videos and Movies
This is brilliant and needs
to be seen and shared. Check out
US -
A Patriotic Music Video by Chris Valentine. What has happened to
our country since the 9-11 incident? Why has the United States been
transformed into a nation of fear and derision? Check out this short
flick as well as some of other great and though provoking online
videos at Chris site including the "AntiWar video" and the
exceptional Tsunami video piece,
"And Gaia
Shuddered" that documents the real tragedy behind the headlines
of 2004's natural disaster. Chris has assembled footage from all
over the world to paint a video mosaic of what the cost in life
really was. Exceptional work.
"
How Sweet It Is" is a cool little music video by Avery Stafford.
It mellow, cool and sort of inspirational. No fancy camera moves,
animations or effects, just basic video making and a nice song.
Hosted at Blastro.com
This is brilliant. You got to
check out this animated video by Geoffroy Barbet Massin.
Merveilleusement Gris
(5:45) is the story of a talking dog, a talking sheep and their
French owner. It is extremely well made and very funny. Yes, it is
in French but there are English subtitles.
Are you a Badman? Maybe you ought to be. Check out the very cool very
sophisticated animated music videos at the
Badman site. Produced and created
by Sean Nadeau. We were really impressed by the "Kissing a Fool"
and "Yoshimi Battles the Robots" clips. This is a fun site if you
like music and animation.
Crass, funny, full of inside jokes, childish humor and poo-poo jokes -
yet at the same time, expertly crafted and produced with love and
adoration towards the Star Wars genre. What more could you ask for
from a great parody and fan film based on the latest Star Wars
episode. You got to see "
Star Wars Episode III - The Lost Hope. This site also includes
details about how the video was created, extra scenes, bloopers,
teaser trailer and lots more. Watch it now.

Eat your vegies or you may end up on the dark side. May the Farm
Be With You. A ragtag team of organic rebels -- Cuke Skywalker,
Obi Wan Cannoli, Princess Lettuce, Ham Solo and his co-pilot
Chewbroccoli -- has hit the web in
Store Wars: The
Organic Rebellion (
www.storewars.org). Store Wars was originally sent to 10,000
fans of Free Range Studios.
Tate Hausman said, "The movie was created for the Organic Trade
Association, after they saw our Webby-winning hit movie,
"The Meatrix" It has now
spread virally to 2.4 million viewers, and has appeared in USA
Today, on ABC, CNN and countless other newspapers, radio programs,
TV shows and blogs across the world. It's time to heed Master
Yogurt's teachings -- "When the market you visit, keep your family
and your planet safe by choosing organic!" This is a great little
five minute video for those who want to eat healthy - as well as
those who love Star Wars. According to Tate, "It took one month for
concept development, writing and character creation; one solid week
of shooting, and three weeks post production. So about two months
altogether."

Great Web Sites for Watching Videos and Movies
Have you ever said you wanted to just chuck it all, hop in your
van with your video gear and travel the world with your camcorder
and portable video editing gear, documenting the ills and currents
that make this globe run? Check out
FluxView USA, run by Flyx Rostrum, AKA Gianni Lazuli. Whether

Are you up to speed with Current?
It's a new cable TV channel with a strong online video presence.
They run a series of contests looking for new filmmakers with an
edgy style and something important to say. Also, check out the
winners of last year's
contest. . Some of these videos are GREAT. We really liked the
Campaign Ad Commercial, a wonderful parody of what goes on inside of
a typical political ad spot, and How to Start Your Own Holiday. a
pitch for those who are happily unattached on Valentines Day.

Glitches can be a good thing. The
Glitch site features two related film festivals - GlitchFast for
DV videos under 3 minutes in length and GlitchFest for videos from 3
minutes to 10 minutes. Even better, they are currently looking for
submissions (until August 1, 2005). Winner gets a copy of Autodesk's
Combustion . There are 200 productions hosted for free on the
festival?s website. A retrospective compilation of the last five
editions is also available in the Glitch?s
online store. If French isn't your language of choice, scroll to
the bottom of the page and pick English. What are they looking for?
"Let your minds run free, this is the perfect occasion to show us
your guts, your originality, your talent and all of this in a very
small amount of time!!! At the Glitch Fast, diversity, variety (?
and brevity!) are favored above all else. All genres are admissible:
fake publicity flicks, gags, parodies, very short dramas, press
reports, animation, fake cartoons, in French, English or others,? be
adventurous: it is up to you to surprise us! As long as the film
respects the time limit, and has a punchy, captivating narrative!"
OutoftheCloset.TV is a new
and very interesting video-based website dedicated to entertaining,
enriching, educating, and informing all people about gay, lesbian,
bisexual, transgender and straight life. This website remains
pornography free and is distributed through 20 different web sites
including America Online. It's very entertaining and not preachy. It
even includes a section abut the ex-gay - a bold un-PC move for gay
site. Also check out the comedy section.
Have you ever checked out
RocketBoom? This extremely cool site features daily news and
video blogs. Sometimes funny, sometimes newsy and sometimes just
weird, you should start off every day with a RocketBoom. For
example, the June 1 videoblog included a GREAT video
parody (Channel 8 teaser) of local news promotions. Hilarious -
but sadly true.
If you ever find yourself looking for a classic video clip, a good
place to check out is the EVTV1 web
site. They have hundreds of clips, ranging from funny, political,
sports, news, self-help, history, music and many others.
